Did you know that stars go through a life cycle just like humans? Stars are born and can die too. Stars are formed in a nebula. A nebula is made of gas and dust. It is also a breeding zone for stars. A red giant is one of the last stages in the life cycle of a star. A red giant will eventually turn into a supernova and make an explosion. A red giant is a red star that is really old. They are not as cool as other stars .The temperature is 2,900 kelvins to 3,900 kelvins. Main sequence stars are stars just like the sun. It is a star in the middle of its life. They are usually yellow or white. The brightest star is in the Leo constellation. The coldest main sequence stars are red. They are called a red dwarf. A supernova is when a star dies. It makes a really big boom! Sometimes we can see it from Earth.
